TrellisCo HRMS three-app ecosystem

TrellisCo is an in-house HRMS product of IMC Business Solutions LLP, developed to provide a connected digital platform for employee management, attendance, and administrative operations.

The product is built around three dedicated applications, each designed for a different user and purpose:

  • TrellisCo — Employee application
  • TrellisCo Bio — Face punch-in and attendance application
  • TrellisCo Pro — Admin and management application

As part of the development team at IMC Business Solutions LLP, I worked on the complete application side of TrellisCo, including UI/UX design and implementation, mobile application development, application workflows, API integration, authentication flows, feature development, testing, debugging, and production integration.

The backend services and APIs support the applications, while my primary contribution was designing and developing the application experiences that users interact with.

Building TrellisCo as a Three-App Ecosystem

Rather than putting every HRMS function into one application, TrellisCo was designed around three dedicated applications.

Each application serves a different purpose while working as part of the same overall product.

TrellisCo

The employee-facing application for everyday HR activities.

TrellisCo Bio

The face-based punch-in and attendance application.

TrellisCo Bio face punch-in application

TrellisCo Pro

The administrative application for managing and monitoring HR operations.

This separation allowed each application to provide a focused experience for its intended users.

My Role in Developing TrellisCo

My contribution to TrellisCo focused on the application-side design and development across all three applications.

I worked on:

  • UI/UX design and implementation
  • Mobile application development
  • Application screen development
  • Navigation and user flows
  • API integration
  • Authentication flows
  • Feature implementation
  • Data handling within the applications
  • Error handling and application states
  • Testing and debugging
  • Production application integration

Working across all three applications allowed me to understand the product from both the individual application perspective and the overall ecosystem perspective.

TrellisCo — Employee Application

The main TrellisCo application is designed for employees.

It provides employees with access to everyday HR-related activities and information through a dedicated application experience.

Some of the areas I worked on include:

  • Employee dashboard
  • Attendance
  • Punch in and punch out
  • Break management
  • Attendance information
  • Announcements
  • Holidays
  • Employee-related information
  • API integration
  • Authentication
  • Application workflows

The main objective was to create an experience that employees could use easily during their everyday work.

TrellisCo Bio — Face Punch-In Application

TrellisCo Bio is the dedicated face-based attendance application within the TrellisCo ecosystem.

The application focuses specifically on the punch-in experience.

The general workflow is:

Employee → Face Capture → Verification → Punch-In → Attendance

I worked on the application-side implementation of this experience, including the interface, user flow, integration with the required APIs and services, and attendance-related functionality.

Because this application has a focused purpose, its interface was designed around making the punch-in process straightforward and efficient.

TrellisCo Pro — Admin Application

TrellisCo Pro is the administrative application of the TrellisCo ecosystem.

Unlike the employee application, administrators need access to broader information and management functionality.

I worked on the application-side implementation of areas such as:

  • Admin dashboard
  • Employee management
  • Attendance management
  • Administrative views
  • Management interfaces
  • API integration
  • Authentication
  • Application workflows
  • UI/UX implementation

The main challenge was providing administrators with more functionality while keeping the interface organized and usable.

Connecting the Three Applications

Although TrellisCo consists of three applications, they operate as parts of one HRMS product.

                       Backend Services

The TrellisCo HRMS ecosystem architecture

The applications have different interfaces and responsibilities, but they need to communicate with the underlying services and work together as one product ecosystem.

Technology & Application Development

My work on TrellisCo involved modern web and mobile application technologies, including:

  • React
  • React Native
  • REST API integration
  • Authentication
  • Mobile application development
  • UI/UX implementation
  • Application state and data handling

The backend services provide the required APIs, while my work focused on building the application experiences around those services and integrating them into the three TrellisCo applications.

What I Learned

Working on TrellisCo gave me practical experience with real-world product development.

I worked across:

  • Multiple mobile applications
  • Different user roles
  • API-driven application development
  • Authentication
  • UI/UX
  • Application workflows
  • Face-based attendance workflows
  • Administrative dashboards
  • Testing and debugging
  • Production integration

The project helped me understand that developing a product is much more than building individual screens.

Every feature needs to work as part of a larger workflow, and every application needs to fit into the overall product architecture.

Final Thoughts

TrellisCo is an in-house product of IMC Business Solutions LLP, and working on it has been an important part of my development journey.

Being able to contribute to the application-side development of all three TrellisCo applications gave me the opportunity to work on different types of real-world software experiences:

  • TrellisCo — Employee experience
  • TrellisCo Bio — Face punch-in and attendance
  • TrellisCo Pro — Administrative experience

From designing interfaces and developing application features to integrating APIs and connecting complete user workflows, the project allowed me to work across a broad range of application development responsibilities.

For me, TrellisCo is not just another project in my portfolio. It is one of the products through which I have gained practical experience building and delivering real-world applications.
